Course Overview and Target Audience

This course provides the state-of-the-art in metabolic surgery. Clinical and mechanistic updates together with the latest guidelines for metabolic surgery will be presented by the thought leaders in the field. Discussions will be interactive to address practical questions of surgeons, bariatric physicians and integrated health professionals.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe pathophysiology of obesity, type 2 diabetes and weight loss maintenance
  • Explore the mechanism of action of different surgical and non-surgical interventions
